My code of ethics

My code of ethics as a qualified physiotherapist

1.1. Patient centred

My way of life, my way of thinking and my behaviour all contribute to the positive image that people have of me as a health professional and of my work. My Hippocratic oath, to which I was sworn, I will keep.

1.2. Delimitation of boundaries and mutual respect between the parties

I avoid negative expressions, I consciously avoid deliberate confrontations and I am open to new things, people, cultures and religions, while at the same time forming my own opinions.

I appreciate the efforts and work of others, I never claim my own achievements as theirs, and I expect the same from others.

I believe it is important to set clear and visible boundaries for all my client relationships, and to have agreements that are accepted by both parties.

2. Professional integrity and credibility

I am respectful and loyal to my patients and do my best to help and heal them. I do not make intentionally untrue or misleading statements, either verbally or in writing. I pass on the knowledge I have acquired in the best possible way, in a way that is easy to understand.

I give clear and accurate information about my qualifications, my area of expertise and my personal experience. I never mislead my patients and I consider each consultation as unique.

3.1. Personal data management and clear communication

In my work, I pay full attention to the patient and try to avoid misunderstandings in communication. I take particular care to identify any personal problems that may affect our work together or the advice we give.

In all cases, I strive to ensure that both the patient and I are satisfied. I work with 100% commitment and seek additional professional support when needed.

I carry out my assignments with the consent and agreement of the patient(s) and do my utmost to ensure that the Party(ies) participating in my therapy do not suffer any disadvantage. I treat data confidentially and respect patients’ privacy and professional life.

Records of my work are handled with care and stored or destroyed in accordance with applicable health laws. Further information on data protection can be found in the Privacy Policy and/or the GTC.

3.2. Conflict of interest, conflict management

I treat my patients’ trust responsibly and do not abuse it at any level. I respect patients’ right to choose, including the right to discontinue therapy. If necessary, I (also) recommend the help of other professionals.

I pay particular attention to avoiding conflicts of interest and deal with potential conflicts openly and fairly.

3.3. The right to free will

I respect the fact that the physiotherapy treatments I give and the results I achieve can be interpreted differently by different people. I don’t talk someone into doing something they don’t want to do, because I respect the importance of free will.

4. Business practice and service sales (marketing)

I do not use patients’ personal information as a reference without permission.

I will accept any cooperation of a material nature or of a barter nature only if it is in line with the principles and spirit I have described. I can only accept requests via e-mail: [email protected]

My services are not free.
